House of Nima Yooshij

The house of Nima Yooshij (1897-1960) is located in the village of Yush in the city of Nur (Māzandarān region), dates back to the qajara era and was built in the year 1207 of the lunar Hegira.

The house of Ali Esfandiāri known as Nima Yooshij - founder of the new Persian poetry - where the father and his ancestors lived and who is also the birthplace of the poet and his mausoleum, has a courtyard, three entrances, one shāhneshin and many rooms; this historic building full of beautiful brick and stucco work, skirted wooden skylights with interesting patterns, a tin roof, was built with theadobe, mud and wood.

Nima himself, regarding this house, says: "My grandfather built a castle and a fortress for me, not a house. Painted walls, carved ceilings, etc. "

This house, which today has been used as a museum and library, displays images, examples of autographed writings, some personal objects from Nima, etc., and is considered among the tourist attractions of the Māzandarān region.
