The international conference "Civilization of Iran; Past, Present, Future "organized by 22 at 23 February 2013 at Sapienza University of Rome and Museum of Oriental Art Giuseppe Tucci (now part of the Museum of Civilization), on the initiative of the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome in collaboration with ISMEO/- International Association of Studies on the Mediterranean and the Orient, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism of the Republic of Italy, the Giuseppe Tucci National Museum of Oriental Art in Rome as well as with Sapienza Sapienza University of Rome, L'Orientale University of Naples and Alma Mater of Bologna was a unique initiative in Italy that has met with great success also thanks to the contribution of university professors and scholars al international level.

The present book contains the reports presented in this conference which, thanks to the precious collaboration of well-known Iranians such as Prof. Adriano Rossi and Prof. Pierfranceso Callieri, have been published in a single volume through ISMEO with contributions from the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome and placed in the editorial series Il Novissimo Ramusio
