The Castle of Falak-ol-Aflak

It was built on a natural and historical hill located in the center of Khorram Abad city. The total plan of this precious work is rectangular and has eight guard towers and two courtyards. Among the peculiarities of this mighty complex, we must remember the presence of a deep water well 42 meters in the first courtyard and the existence of a secret passage for the escape in the second courtyard. This castle was built during the Sasanian period and, of course, is identified with the same fortress known as 'Shapur Khast'.
