Bushehr folk music is appreciated in Iran thanks to its fast and cheerful rhythm, in deep connection with local dialects. The people of Bushehr are traditionally engaged in fishing activities, and the traditional, fast-paced melodies are used by fishermen to support their daily activities and challenges on the open sea.
The musical group Avaye Mouji, directed by Mohsen Aghaei, is one of the most famous of its kind.
