Greetings comes Nowruz Persian New Year. The Nowruz Festival

Nowruz, the Persian New Year holiday arrives.

Now-Ruz, New Day, is the name of the Persian New Year holiday, which is the oldest holiday in the world.

Nowruz has certainly been celebrated for over 3000 years by all the peoples that were once part of the Persian empire. Iran is the country where Nowruz was born and where the tradition still continues and the most heartfelt holiday by the Persians.

Nowruz coincides with the spring equinox: it is the feast of rebirth, joy, the victory of good over evil, represented by the arrival of spring and the defeat of winter.

This year the exact moment of the Nowruz in Italy arrives exactly at 16:33 and 26 seconds (Italian time) on Sunday 20 March 2022 (the precise instant of the equinox).

Two years have passed since coronavirus has overwhelmed our daily life and we have had to face the problems caused by the pandemic which unfortunately still continues and has forced us to postpone the desire to be able to meet you for next year.

Nowruz for us is the only holiday that allows us the opportunity to renew our friendship with dear Iranian friends and all those who are passionate about Persian culture.

But we never give up and we don't let ourselves win. We hope that peace and security can spread to the whole world and all wars are canceled in the new year. We are together with close and united hearts praying to God that he will give us the strength and ability to love others and we are sure that we will soon return to embrace each other.

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

The Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome wishes you Happy Nowruz and invites the SV to share the Nowruz festival with us.
