Jame'h Mosque of Qom
The Jame'h mosque of Qom it is located in the same city (region of the same name) and its construction dates back to the year 529 of the lunar Hegira. This mosque has developed at different times.
With an area of 6 thousand square meters and two entrances, it is considered one of the oldest mosques in the city of Qom; the part of the Gonbad-Khaneh it was built before the other sections and dates back to the Seljuk era.
The two Iwan they form a geometric square-rectangle combination that at first glance strikes the observer. The plan of the mosque is such that it is surrounded by four sections with different parts including the dome Shabestan, the entrance portal, the Iwan northern and southern, the crypt ei gushvāreh (structure to change the square into an octagon for the formation of the dome) and at the center of the courtyard a magnificent basin was added.
The Jam'eh mosque of Qom embodies all the elements of Iranian architecture such as: majolica, i muqarnas and the Koranic inscriptions. THE'Iwan very majestic is one of the most beautiful and sumptuous buildings of this complex.
The presence of numerous lattices in different parts, in addition to the lighting inside the building, allows air to circulate internally and also make it fresh and fragrant. Among the remarkable peculiarities of this great mosque is the fact that not even a piece of iron was used to build it and over the years it is still standing.
