Mausoleum of Hamdallah Mustawfi
The mausoleum of Hamdallah Mustawfi (1281-1349), well-known writer, geographer and historian is located in the city of Qazvin (region of the same name) and its construction dates back to the era of Ilkhanid (eighth century of the lunar Hegira).
This Azeri-style mausoleum, located in the middle of a courtyard, is located in a hypogeum above which a small brick square tower building has been built and before reaching the turquoise blue conical dome, it has been transformed into a an octagonal structure delimited by machining a muqarnas.
The dome and its foundations which are majestic and beautiful buildings of the Mongolian era, has an inscription of blue majolica in which in calligraphy noseta'liq briefly tells the life of Hamdallah Mustawfi, his ancestors and his publications.
The portal of the mausoleum is adorned with a phrase that has as its theme the adoration of God and of the Prophet Mohammad (S); the inside of the building has simple turquoise majolica and under the foundations of the dome all around there is an inscription that shows a sura of the sacred Quran in calligraphy naskh in stucco and the lower part of the two entrance doors of the mausoleum has the shape of a woven and inlaid flower.
In the northern corner of the Hamdallah Mustawfi mausoleum, which is also called the high dome, two rooms and two basements have been built for the guardians of the complex with the tank and the cistern.
