Mausoleum of Āmaneh Khātun

The mausoleum of Āmaneh Khātun (S) or Amineh Khātun, tomb of Seyyede Āmaneh, daughter ofImam Ja'far Sādeq (A) is located in the city of Qazvin (region of the same name) and belongs to the Safavid and Qajara era.

The internal plan of the mausoleum is octagonal, the external one is round and has the appearance of a cylindrical tower and the ceiling of the large dome with double cover and majolica is in the shape of an eight-pointed star; under this dome there are four stucco windows and finely decorated.

The lower part of the building is made of smooth stones and the flooring is in colorful majolica. The tomb of the Imam's daughter is located next to and opposite the mihrab, presents decorations a muqarnas and zarih it is placed above it.

No type of decoration, except for a beautiful, cross-linked stucco window, was used inside the mausoleum. In the qajaro period a room was added to this place where there was a sacred and revered well.

This sanctuary has a hosseniyeh, a large courtyard and even some ancient tombs. Among the architectural ornaments used in this building, we can mention the enamelled bricks with geometric figures, the encaustic tiles with floral designs, muqarnas of terracotta and mirror processing.

The Imāmzādeh Āmaneh Khātun (S), is one of the ancient shrines of the city of Qazvin that since ancient times has been a place of pilgrimage, of devotion, of carrying out many celebratory rites and gathering center on different religious occasions in this city .
