Cypress Dasht-e Lar

The cypress Dasht-e Lār is an ancient 2770-year-old tree located near the village Lār in the small town of Bāsht (Kohgiluyeh region and Buyer Ahmad).

This cypress, tall 7 meters and 45 cm with a circumference of the trunk of 7 meters, is one of the three ancient trees of Iran. The water supply of this tree takes place naturally.

This work of nature that is known among the inhabitants by the name of cypress Kuhi, with inscriptions and handwriting of different periods around it, is located next to a temple of fire (known as Gonbad) dating back to ancient times and memory of Zoroastrian customs, domes, ancient cisterns and a cemetery of distant eras.

Antiquity and the apparent shape of this cypress (Dasht-e Lar) as a wonder of nature, next to the revered mausoleum of Imāmzādeh Seyed Mohammad (A) and historic buildings, each year attracts many tourists to this area.
