Caravanserai of the Yazd region

Caravanserai of the Yazd region

There are three types of caravanserai in the Yazd region:
a) the caravanserragli intended for important merchants: it is a commercial space, considered a particular section of the Bazar's structure. Examples are the "Ali Aqa-ye Shirazi" caravanserai and the "Sadat" caravanserai in the "Panje Ali" bazaar.
b) caravanserais within the cities, which were living spaces in residential neighborhoods near the bazaar and were mostly used by villagers in the surrounding area. Among these we can mention the caravanserai of the Bafqi (ie "of the inhabitants of Bafq"), the caravanserai of the Deh Bala'i, the caravanserai of the Bondar Abadi, the caravanserai "Moshir" and the caravanserai "Amir Chakhmaq".
c) caravansaragli between cities, such as the "Khargushi" caravanserai along the ancient road between Yazd and Esfahan, the "Kharanaq" caravanserai along the road between Yazd and Khorasan, the "Dehshir" caravanserai along the road between Yazd and Shiraz, the "Zayn-od-din" caravanserai along the road between Yazd and Kerman and the "Meybod" caravanserai along the ancient road between Yazd and Tehran.
