Azadi Tower and Museum

Meydan-e Azadi (Freedom Square) is located in the western part of Tehran, at the beginning of the Tehran-Karaj highway. A modern tower has been erected in the center of the square (the Tower of Freedom), inside which there is a museum. In it are exhibited several objects prior to the birth of Christ and numerous works belonging to the Achaemenid, Parthian and Sasanian periods. There are also finds from the Islamic era, including some ceramic objects, bronze plates, paintings and carpets.
