Takht-e Marmar

Takht-e Marmar (Palace of the Marble Throne)

The Marble Throne - also called Takht-e Soleiman (Solomon's Throne) - was made with sixty-five large and small slabs of marble and is shaped like a platform with high walls. It is located in the center of the main loggia of the Palace. The four sides of the throne rest on the shoulders of figures sculpted by six angels, three demons as well as eleven spiral columns. On the sides of the steps, in front of the loggia, two statues in the form of lions have been placed. Takht-e Marmar Palace is located within the Golestan Palace complex.
