Palace of the green museum
The Shahvand Palace, which today is called "green museum palace", is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. The reason why it is called this comes from the use of unique green stones from the Khamse mines of Zanjān in its external façade; also in the materials the lead was used that prevents the chipping of the stones due to climate changes.
The square footage is 1203 square meters and consists of two parts, the first includes: the entrance stairs, the waiting room, the office, the hall of mirrors, the private dining room and the bedroom from bed.
The second, the basement that in the years 1350-1352 by the will of Mohammad Rezā Pahlavi was added to the first part to receive foreign guests that includes: the reception room, two bedrooms and the dining room.
In this building various types of Iranian art have been used, such as the work in mirrors, stucco, stone, gilding and inlay (khātam kāri).
