Rab'-e Rashidi

Rab'-e Rashidi is a historic building in Azerbaijani architectural style located on the slopes of Mount Sarkhāb, in the city of Tabriz (eastern Azerbāijān region) and its construction dates back to the early eighth or late seventh century of Hijra lunar.

What is now called Rab'-e Rashidi, known for the remaining University, was actually once a small city with walls and a large bastion divided into three parts: Rab'e Rashidi (the main part), the town Rashidi (the residential complex and adjacent structures) and Rabaz-e Rashidi (the elegant residential area) which included various buildings such as: the University (with four faculties), the library, the madrasa, two mosques, summer and winter, the the orphanage, the hammam, the hostel, the hospital, the industrial workshops, the mill, and a dome for the mausoleum of Khāje Rashid Al-Din Fazl Allah Hamedāni, its founder, who to support the expenses of Rab 'and Rashidi had sold many properties scattered throughout Iran, Afghanistan and Georgia. After his death this huge complex was looted and destroyed.
