The Khaje Nasir Observatory
the astronomical complex of Maraqeh, whose remains can now be seen, was built in the year 657 of the lunar hegira, at the time of Hulaglu by order of the great Iranian scientist Khaje Nasir-od-din Tusi. Archaeological excavations have brought to light different sectors: the observatory itself, a central tower, five rotating units, a library and more. Near the architectural complex there is a cave belonging to the Sasanian period, known as the Taleb Khan Cave.
