Qarah Su waterfall

Qarah Su waterfall

The Qarah Su waterfall with a height of over 1000 meters above sea level is located in the homonymous village, in the town of Kalāt Nāderi (Khorāsān Razavi region). Stairs have been placed on the stone wall of the Qarah Su canyon to facilitate visitors' access to the waterfall.

In this area there are also some waterfalls, both high and low. To get to the origin of the Qarah Su waterfall it is necessary to climb eight stairs. This, (with the meaning of "black water"), falls on black stones; the reflection of the color of the stones in the water of the river makes it appear black and this is precisely the meaning of the name of this waterfall.

What adds to its beauty and makes this place even more fascinating, is the presence of narrow and winding canyons with walls that rise up towards the sky. The palace of Kalāt, source of the sun or palace of the sun, is another attraction to visit in the area of Kalāt Nāderi and was built by the will of Nāder Shāh.
