Twin Lakes Siah Gav (Siāg Ow: dark blue water)
The Siah Gav twin lakes are located at 35 km north-east of the city of Abdānān in the Ilām region. These two lakes are connected together by a wide natural channel 8 meters, along 70 and deep 8. The lakes have clear water and are visible up to a depth of 3 meters.
The origin of the lakes in the hollows of the earth comes from the subsoil and also the river Siāh Gāv, after entering the canyon and in the depths of Mount Kabir to the south-east of Abdānān, ends in these two lakes of which the first, with a difference minimum level, is above the second. One of the most important peculiarities of these lakes is the presence of various salts, sulphurous water and hot springs of fresh water inside them that have made their water rich in mineral salts drinkable. Nearby are relatively high plains, flower fields and mountains. In this area live animals such as the hyena, the jackal, the wild boar, the rabbit, the wolf, the common fox, the porcupine, and birds such as the gray heron, the great white heron, the eagle of the desert, the golden eagle, the common bee-eater, the sandpiper, the European nightjar or caprimulgo, and plants such as the astragalus, the prunus lycioides, the blueberry, the fig and the willow.
