Yakh Morad cave
The Yakh Marād cave is located in the village of Azādbar in the district of Karaj (Alborz region) and dates back to the prehistoric period of ancient Iran. The entrance door of the ancient stratified cave, which is considered one of the natural attractions and measures 3 meters in length and 8 in height, is located in the heights of the mountains of the area and the route of the cave is usually downhill and facing down so much so that in the end, reaching the abysses of the mountain, you find yourself facing icy springs on the ground and porous stallattiti.
The height of this cave above sea level is approximately 2640 meters. In the months of esfand and farvardin in the best conditions form very beautiful ice cones. In one part of the cave you can see four floors with a difference in height greater than 30 meters.
In the past this cave enjoyed a particular veneration by the locals to the point that the inhabitants of the area were convinced that whoever ate the ice in it within the following year would achieve their goal and consequently named it yakh morād, or ice of desires.
The ancients believed in the effectiveness of the ice of the cave for the care of the sick, in particular for the infertility of women and the presence of old locks in the corners of it testify to how much it was considered sacred.
