Latidan bridge
The Latidan bridge is located near the village of Kalmatali (Latidan) and on the Kool river, west of the city of Bandar Abbas (Hormozgan region). This bridge built at the time of the reign of Shah Abbas the Great and during the construction of the caravan road, had a useful role in the transport and transfer of militias and equipment to free the area of the Persian Gulf from the Portuguese.
The ancient Latidan bridge (Kool bridge) remained buried underground for years until in 1993 the flood brought back its remains; It consists of rough stones joined together by mortar.
At the time of construction it had about 233 spans (today only 33 are intact) and was about 1000 meters long, making it one of the longest ancient bridges in the country. Its width due to its being long in different parts is variable.
Canals have been built between the spans on two floors and the surface of the bridge is made up of flat stones.
