Shahr-e Kord's room of mirrors
The mirror room is located in the city of the same name (Chahār Mahāl and Bakhtiāri region) and dates back to over 140 years ago, that is, to the early Qajar. It is part of an imposing and beautiful building with large rooms, Stable, a courtyard, a andaruni (part reserved for women), a back yard, warehouses and rooms with mirror decorations; a large part of this house was destroyed and only an environment called the hall of mirrors, the rooms adjacent to it and other spaces remained.
The important part of this house is the Talar or room of mirrors which is actually it shāhneshin (main room reserved for guests) in the shape of a large cross. This room is made unique by the mirror decorations with small geometric mosaics, the stuccos and paintings with floral, geometric and bird images and the wood on the walls and ceiling.
The doors of this room are made of wood and above them there are polychrome windows.
This historic building once housed the association of calligraphers from the Chahār Mahāl and Bakhtiāri region while the office of cultural heritage, crafts and tourism in the city of Shahr-e Kord is now located here.
