Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiyari region is located in the central part of the Zagros Mountains. The city of Shahr-e Kord is the capital of the region and its major population centers are: Ardal, Lordegan, Borujen and Farsan. The Bakhtiyari territory has a unique and distinctive environment, its visitors discover a high mountain range with narrow valleys, vast plateaus with water-laden rivers, oak and plane forests, and rich pastures in the Zagros Mountains. The highest point of the region is the peak of Mount Zard Kuh and the lowest part is located in Armand.
