Mausoleum of Hakim Elāhi

The Mausoleum of Haj Malā'ali Semnāni (1828-1905), known as Hakim Elāhi, is located in the city of Semnān (homonymous region) and was built in 1327 of the solar Hegira.

The mausoleum building is located in a tree-lined, green and open-air complex and is the burial place of one of the most distinguished figures of philosophy and wisdom and one of the greatest reasons for pride in Semnān; the complex includes: the entrance portal, theIwan and some salon and room inside each other. On the front of theIwan which is about five meters high and is adjacent to the road, there is an inscription in tiles in which the year of birth and death of Hakim Elāhi is announced.

Above the entrance portal there are two blue-painted tablets decorated with paintings, on the upper table with the portrait of Haj Malā'ali Hakim Elāhi and on the lower one with prayers for the dead.

On the sides and at the top of the portal there are ornamental motifs with different combinations of bricks. On the mosaics above the windows the phrase "The Hawla wa The Quwwata Il-la Bil-laah"(There is neither power nor power except with Allah) and on the other mosaic the names of Mohammad, Ali, Fātemeh, Hassan and Hossein.

The ancient water tank of Hāj Malā'ali Hakim Elāhi (related to the qajaro period) in the city of Semnān has also been included among the national works of Iran.
