Veresk bridge

The Veresk bridge is located in the heights of the village of the same name in the city of Savād Kuh (Māzandarān region) and was inaugurated in the year 1937 after about two years of work and during the second war world has taken the name of "Piruzi" (victorious).

It, which is considered among the engineering masterpieces and strategic bridges of Iran, was built at the height of 110 meters from the bottom of the valley with an opening of 66 meters. This construction with the brick façade was made with cement mortar, sand and bricks and with primitive means such as dynamite and hand drill and in its construction the armor was used.

The Veresk bridge during the Second World War witnessed many marginal events; currently the Tehrān-Sāri-Tehrān-Gorgān trains and also the freight trains and those carrying fuel pass through this bridge.

Now this historical construction, which has been included in the Guinness Book of Records in the section of high decks over 61 meters, as well as particular importance in the transport industry, is also considered a tourist attraction; a bridge on which there are many legends and stories.
