Shahandasht waterfall
The Shahandasht waterfall is located in the village of the same name in the province of Āmol (Māzandarān region). This permanent waterfall consisting of eight waterfalls with a total height of 180 meters, is the largest in Māzandarān and the highest in Iran.
The main waterfall is high 51 meters, the second is about 30 meters long, the third, fourth and fifth respectively 12, 18 and 10 meters, the sixth 25 meters, the seventh approximately 20 and the eighth and last 35 meters. The beauty of the surrounding landscape is unparalleled and Mount Damāvand is clearly visible.
Above the Shāhāndasht waterfall is the Malek Bahman fortress made of stone and a type of concrete dating back to 3 thousand years ago. Other places to visit in this area include the Elyās cave, the Kabutar Kolli strait and cave, the Shunā plain, Takh-e Sangi, the ancient mud houses and also the Imāmzādeh Elyās, at the Khuzak spring and to the tekyeh Shāhāndasht.
