Imāmzādeh of the fallen 72s

The place of pilgrimage of the Imamazadh of the fallen 72 is located near Sārvaq (Markazi region) and is the burial site of 72 descendants of the Shiite Imams who, as a group from Karbala, were headed to Tus to visit the mausoleum of Ali Ibn Musa Al -Rezā (A) and during this journey died as martyrs.
This place is considered one of the places of pilgrimage in this area. The main building of this historic sanctuary belongs to the sixth century of the Hijra and parts were added in the following years.
The brick and stucco buildings and the adjacent parts of this historic complex located in the middle of a verdant garden are the following: the sanctuaries of the Imam descendants with the domes, the metal and wooden gratings, the mihrāb and the ancient inscriptions, very fine wooden doors, a flight of stairs to the roof and the domes, the sanctuary known as chehel dokhtarān or chehel akhtarān (lett: of the forty girls or stars), the mausoleum Shāzdeh Hossein, the deep crypt of running water , remains of an ancient crypt etc.
