Historic Vakil building

The Vakil palace is located in the city of Sanandaj (Kurdistān region), the construction of the original building dates back to the Zand period and in the following ages was gradually completed and completely repaired.

In the past this building was the residence of the "Vakil" family. It consists of three parts: the Vakil Almolk palace, the Vakil Al-Soltān palace and the Vakil Al-Mamālek palace where there is an assortment of decorative elements and an ancient and historical architecture.

The building has two entrances: one main with a large wooden door and another in the part of Vakil alley. In front of Iwan main with wooden beamed ceilings overlooking the garden (current park), stone columns with a twisted stem are placed and a sloping roof in style was built above them. kolāh farhangi (European hat).

The refined reticulated windows and beautiful brick work in this building are the most noteworthy attractions of the design of this complex.

The private hammam of the Vakil family is located between three buildings and in it were used calcareous stone work on the walls and in the hot and cold spaces of the bathroom for the decorations we made use of geometric shapes, flora and fauna (for most of the image of the peacock).

The water needed for this complex is procured by three Qanat (underground canals). At the center of the main courtyard there is also a stone basin and next to it there is a platform facing the qibla. Parts such as some courtyards, a small bazaar, the hammam and other buildings used as residential, commercial and sanitary buildings, were added at the end of the construction of the building.
