Lake Shehyun or Lake Dez

Lake Shehyun or Lake Dez is located north of the city of Dezful (Khuzestān region).
This natural lake along 5 km and wide 12, with a depth of 50 meters, has an area of ​​approximately 6,000 hectares. Its water originates from the heights of Arāk and Aligudarz and, after having passed from the mountain range of Zagros and having received numerous tributaries, enter this lake.

The Shehyun lake has some islands, big and small where trees have grown. The big one in the middle of the lake has an area of ​​over 60 thousand square meters. On these islands live small animals like the fox and the rabbit next to birds like the partridge, the partridge, and the sea birds.

The leopard has also been sighted in the difficult parts to cross. Next to the beautiful lake of Shehyun considered a tourist attraction, you can try water sports such as: boating, water skiing, swimming, fishing and even diving in the lake from the rocks.
