Shālu Bridge
The Shālu bridge is located in the town of Izeh (Khuzestān region) and is ancient for over a few thousand years. This historic monument along the way "Dazpārt", one of the ancient streets of Iran, was built as an important pass.
This historic bridge was built with two high solid pylons and two thick and very strong ropes. In the past this was a combination of wood and rope; later with the use of a cable the two ends of the bridge were connected and a cabin transported people and livestock.
Shālu bridge throughout history has been very important and is known by different names such as: Khare Zād, Khurzād, Dazpārt, Dastfārat, Izej and Shālu.
Shālu or Tāifeh is one of the oldest tribes Bakhtiari who lives in the south and south-west of Iran, in the Khuzestān, Chahār Mahāl and Bakhtiāri and Lorestān regions.
