Shevi waterfall
The Shevi waterfall is located in the mountain range of the Zagros in a village named Shevi, near the city of Dezful (Khuzestān region). It, with a height of almost 100 meters, is the largest natural waterfall in the Middle East and one of the most beautiful in Iran and after having come out of a cave, it flows down from the high pass; the water, after passing by the mountains and valleys, flows into the Dez river and finally into the lake of Sadd-e Dez in the Khuzestān region.
The origin of the attribution of this name is the presence of a village named Shevi around it. In local dialect "Shevi"Means delicacy. However, in some places, due to the proximity of the Shevi waterfall to the Taleh Zang railway, it is also known by this name.
This waterfall in spring has a lush and beautiful nature; the best time to visit it is during this season and in particular in the month of Farvardin when the spring air gives this area a greater freshness and luxuriance.
Nearby there is another large waterfall which is sometimes called the second Shevi waterfall or Sang-e Mār waterfall.
