Historic Hammam Bakkān

The historic Bakkān Hammam is located next to the Mārun River near the village Imam Rezā (A) (Khuzestān region) and belongs to the period Sassanid. The building of this historic hammam belonging to the ancient city of Arjān or Argān, is four Iwan and at present, due to the fact that his floor up to a high height has been filled because of the fall of the ceilings and the stones of the valley next to it, his plan is not entirely visible; a central part is of a central square shape the four Iwan they were placed on its four sides.

Those that were above four columns were joined together with arches and the central part had a domed ceiling that has now collapsed. Around the hammam Bakkān there are still remains of the bath, of the khazineh and the dressing room.

The word Bakkān means "famous" and this shows the interest in cleaning during the construction of the public bath. The Bakkān hammam from a cultural and social point of view is of considerable importance.
