The Castle of Nehbandan
Nehbandan Castle is one of the oldest archaeological remains in the southern Khorasan region, dating back to the period of the Parthians and in the opinion of some experts it seems to be the site of the ancient city of Neh.
In this structure some ceramic objects have been found that from their shape and color closely resemble ceramics of the Parthian period. The discovery of other ceramics belonging to the Safavid era reveal that this castle was active up until that time. The architectural style and construction techniques show the various changes made from the time of the Parthians to that of the Safavids.
