Ziyarat village and waterfall
The village and the Ziyarat waterfall are located in the central part of the city of Gorgan (Golestan region); this area, located between forests, mountains and at a height of 1000 meters above sea level, with a fresh and ideal climate and a luxuriant nature, is considered one of the recreational areas of this region.
Ziyarat village, also known by other names such as Ziyarat Khase Rood, Ziyarat Khosrow and Ziyarat, has several attractions such as: the ancient two-story houses of stone and wood, a fascinating architecture and a historical atmosphere with its winding alleys and narrow, the Ziyarat waterfalls, the twin waterfalls, those of the Tal Anbar valley, the Khal Darreh waterfall, the thermal spring, the Imamzadeh Abdallah and other sanctuaries such as that of Ali Ben Musa Ibn Ja'far known as Azim Hosseini, the Imamzadeh Saleh, Baba Ghanbarsar and the ancient cemetery of Imamzadeh Abdallah (where some tombstones date back over a thousand years ago).
From the name of this village one imagines it was a pilgrimage site, instead it is more a place of fun! Considering some ancient tales and the remains from Shahr-e Sukhte, the pilgrimage route made by Buddhists many years ago in this area is the reason for the choice of the current name for this village.
