Laton waterfall

The Laton waterfall is located near the Kuteh Kumeh village, in the Astara area (Gilan region) and is considered the highest waterfall in Iran.

Its height is about 105 meters and in addition to the main waterfall next to it there is another 65 meters high. Above there are three large natural basins with three 10-meter waterfalls which constitute a unique attraction in the Laton area.

This waterfall originates from the eastern slopes of Mount "Espinas" and finally flows into the Caspian Sea. The uphill path towards the rapid consists of very beautiful wooded hills and along the way you can see numerous sources of fresh and drinking water.

At the edge of the waterfall there is one of the most beautiful and dense pristine forests in the Gilan region with a concentration of peach trees, quinces, pears, walnuts, hazelnuts, wild apples that remain green and beautiful to look at nine months a year .

Among the various species of animals around the waterfall we can remember the wolf, the wild boar, the bear (rather rare), the hedgehog, the horse, the cow etc ...
