The martyrdom of President Ayatollah Raisi in the accident of his helicopter.

Ayatollah Raisi, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, embraced martyrdom in a helicopter crash in the Varzghan region of Azerbaijan Sharghi, northwest of Iran.

Also present on the helicopter carrying the president were Ayatollah Ale-Hashem, Imam of Friday Prayer of Tabriz, Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Foreign Minister of and the governor of Tabriz, Malek Rahmati.

“Our deepest condolences to the Iranian people and to the families of President Raisi and the delegation accompanying him on their martyrdom. We ask God to grant their families patience and comfort."
