The exhibition of works by the artists Hassan and Mojtaba Vahedi

The exhibition of the artists Hassan and Mojtaba Vahedi, Friday 5th April.

The Cartastraccia association is pleased to invite you to the inauguration of a double solo exhibition at the Horti Lamiani Gallery, in collaboration with Alefba and the Cultural Institute of Iran.

On display are the works of two Iranian artists, Hassan Vahedi, who lives and works in Italy, and of his brother Seyed Mojtaba Vahedi, who lives in Iran and who recently produced a series of embroidered fabrics that for originality, for the colors they juxtapose and for the characters they stage they go beyond the handicraft production to offer a visual artistic proposal of strong interest. Calligraphy in bright colors, animals, hunters, groups of women and other scenarios crowded with references to the popular imagination of storytellers, capable of mixing religious legends with literary stories.

Alongside this textile production and in dialogue with it, some works by Hassan Vahedi that we can read in continuity with the atmospheres of fabrics for lyricism and references. Some works have been selected from the artist's production of the late 1980s, but most constitute the latest developments in a research on color and materials that Hassan Vahedi has carried out in recent years, working on wooden surfaces, with painting and carving.
