The 36th international film festival for children and teenagers

Registration begins at the 36th international film festival for children and teenagers.

The 36th international film festival for children and young people will take place from 5 to 10 October 2024 in the historic city of Isfahan with the participation of the Film Organization, the Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Municipality of Isfahan. The festival aims to promote peace and tolerance, spread moral values, raise awareness and instill hope among children and young adults, and discover new talent in both the competitive and non-competitive sections.

This year the festival will have an emphasis on family films that convey family values.

  1. A) Feature film and animation competition

The duration of feature films must be at least 75 minutes. The jury will award the following prizes:

  1. Golden Butterfly for best film
  2. Golden Butterfly for best animated film
  3. Golden Butterfly for best feature film director
  4. Golden Butterfly for best animation director
  5. Golden Butterfly for best screenplay
  6. Golden Butterfly for best actor/actress
  7. Golden Butterfly for the best artistic contribution

The children's and young people's jury will also award a prize to the director of the film they selected.

  1. B) Short film and animation competition

The duration of the short films must be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes. The jury will award the following prizes to the winners:

  1. Golden Butterfly for best short film
  2. Golden Butterfly for best short film director
  3. Golden Butterfly for best animated short film director
  4. Special Jury Award
  1. C) Sections Out of Competition

Retrospective of important national and international films

Rules

  1. The films will be selected by the Festival director.
  2. Films not selected in previous editions are not admitted.
  3. Films already distributed in Iran (cinema, TV, VOD, etc.) are not allowed.
  4. All films will be divided into 2 age groups: children (5-9 years) and young people (10-17 years).
  5. The production date of the films submitted must be after January 2023.

Presentation of Films

  1. Applicants must first register the film on the festival website, www.icff.ir, and then send an MP4 preview link with English subtitles to the secretariat, along with a photo of the director, biography, filmography, film poster, brochure and at least 3 frames of the film.
  2. Registrations will be open from 10 July to 22 August 2024.
  3. The deadline for submitting the original version of the selected film is September 21, 2024. If the final version is not submitted by the scheduled date, the festival secretariat reserves the right to withdraw the film from all announced programs.
  4. The festival secretariat is responsible for scheduling the screenings of the selected films.
  5. By submitting the film to the festival, the nominee accepts all rules and regulations of the festival. It is important to note that once the festival has been officially announced and approval has been received from the film's legal producer or distributor, screenings cannot be cancelled.
  6. The final decision on unforeseen cases is at the sole discretion of the festival director.
