The Catholic University and the BAYAN Institute present: Multireligiosity in Schools

Saturday May 9 2026 , at the headquarters of the Italian Institute of Islamic and Humanistic Studies (BAYAN) in San Giovanni Lupatoto (VR) , a scientific and cultural seminar will be held dedicated to the teaching of Islam in the Italian context. The event was born from the synergy between theCatholic University of Sacred Heart , CIRMIB (Center for Initiatives and Research on Migration – Brescia) andBAYAN Institute.

Islam in Schools and Sociological Research

The meeting will open at 15:00 pm with institutional greetings from Dr. Anwar Alnehmi, Director of the BAYAN Institute. The intervention of the Professor Maddalena Colombo, Director of CIRMIB and professor at the Catholic University , which will analyze the state of multi-religiosity within the Italian public school system.

The heart of the seminar will be the presentation of the results of a sociological research conducted by Dr. Alessandra Caragiuli, PhD at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. The survey focuses on educational spaces and actors involved in teaching Islam in the country.. The discussion session, scheduled between 4.45pm and 5.30pm, will be moderated by Prof. Mohamed Bamoshmoosh.
