Rice with cabbage
Ingredients for people 6
• 500 g of basmati rice
• 1 kg of cabbage
• Oil for sauteing
• 1 finely sliced large onion
• 450 g of diced beef or lamb
• 1 teaspoon of turmeric
• 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
• 2 spoons of concentrated tomato purée
• Salt
• Pepper
Preparation
Thinly slice the washed cabbage and let it dry perfectly in a pan with sufficient oil. Aside, fry the onion, add the meat and only when it is flavored and has completely changed color, add it to the cabbage. Salt and spice. Cover flush with hot water if possible and cook slowly over low heat and with the lid on until the meat is cooked. Meanwhile, boil the rice halfway through cooking, drain it and rinse it in warm water. At this point, place a few tablespoons of oil, a first layer of rice, one of meat, and so on alternately in a pan with a high edge and a wide bottom, ending with a layer of rice. Cover and continue steaming for at least 40 'sprinkling, if necessary, with a little water if the rice seems too dry.
