The culture of Iran is one of the oldest in the Middle East. Thanks to its dominant geo-political and cultural position in the world, Iran has directly influenced distant cultures and peoples such as Italy, Macedonia and Greece in the West, Russia in the north, the Arabian peninsula in the south and the 'South and eastern Asia to the east.
