There are two winners of the project "Artist in Residence 2018"
The Italian artist Pier Paolo Patti and the Iranian Sadaf Hesamiyan they are the two winners of the project "Artist in Residence 2018"Who will spend one month in Teheran, December 2018 and one month in Turin, November 2018 respectively. A unique opportunity for emerging artists from countries that have always shared the history of two great civilizations and who will have the opportunity to confront themselves in cities where art and history generate stimuli and emotions to create and give life to new works.
The project is part of the initiatives promoted by the EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture) cluster in Iran to promote contacts and deepen cultural exchanges. The promoters of the initiative are the Embassy of Italy in Tehran and the other diplomatic representations and cultural institutions of the European countries participating in the EUNIC - Iran cluster, the Garuzzo Institute for Visual Arts (IGAV) and the Kooshk Residency.
"Artist in Residence 2018" fits into the larger project "Residences for the art", Created by the Garuzzo Institute thanks to the dense network of international relations that it has built over the years, aimed at emerging artists: an artistic exchange program born with the aim of strengthening and maintaining the institutional relations created over the years with partner countries (China , Argentina, Georgia, Iran).
Foreign artists will all be welcomed at the same time in Turin in November, the month chosen to allow them to immerse themselves in the cultural context when the offer on contemporary art is richer, more lively and international, with a succession of exhibitions, fairs, musical events. An action made possible by the monitoring carried out by the Garuzzo Institute which continues beyond the strict period of residence.
"The Garuzzo Institute has believed in this project, as he believes in the" Residenze per l'Arte "," this is the enthusiastic comment by President Rosalba Garuzzo "the idea of bringing artists of different backgrounds to the same place, to realize the mission of the 'Institute that has always believed in the added value of cultural diplomacy'.
We can not wait to tell their stories and their impressions after two such original and formative experiences. #contemporaryGaruzzo.
