Photographic exhibition "The always Persian Gulf"

National Day of the Persian Gulf.

On April 30, the National Day of the Persian Gulf is celebrated. This day marks the anniversary of the expulsion of the Portuguese from the Strait of Hormuz-Persian Gulf by Shah Abbas (king of Persia between 1587 and 1629) in 1622, and is remembered as an important event by the Iranian people.

The celebration of the Day wants to highlight the fact that ancient and historical texts have always defined that stretch of sea "Persian Gulf", as the ancient Achaemenid Empire settled in the territory of modern Iran. The events and demonstrations want to underline the historical and cultural continuity for which it was called.

To celebrate this important day, the Cultural Institute of Iran in collaboration with the non-governmental association "Via della Seta Marina" and in the framework of its activities in the context of the 160th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Iran and Italy organizes,
