Imeeting between Councilor Iranian president and Dr. Sabahi
In these days there was a meeting between Dr. Hesam Ashena, Councilors of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Dr. Taher Sabahi, an outstanding scholar and researcher of carpets.
The meeting took place mainly to praise and acknowledge Dr. Sabahi's 50 years of activity and to convey Dr. Rouhani's cordial greetings to the carpet expert.
Dr. Sabahi, in all these years, has undertaken to present and promote the precious art of working with carpets.
During the interview, Doctor Taher Sabahi offered two of the books of which he himself was the author as a gift, these books are on the history and art of oriental carpet weaving.
Also present at this meeting was Mr. Alireza Ghaderi, director of the information site for Persian carpets, graphic designer and artistic director of Dr. Sabahi's books. The same during the meeting shed light on the works and works of Doctor Sabahi.
Dr. Seyyed Taher Sabahi, after having obtained his degree in pharmacy at the University of Bologna, for the immense passion he possessed for the art of carpet weaving, has implemented over time a personal museum that contains the various works (carpets) that he has collected over the years.
He has traveled for more than 50 years in various parts of the world, mainly in the places where the production and processing of carpets is most present. These trips led him to see and buy precious works and moreover he carried out some interesting research on the oriental textile art of carpets.
Sabahi is one of the main exponents of the international conference of oriental carpets ICOC.
He was the creator of the magazine “Ghereh” (node), of which 50 productions have been made in 20 years.
He has also written more than 20 texts on the weaving of rugs and related matters that have been printed by prestigious Italian publishers.
Finally he decided to create a collection and translation into the Farsi language of his works and studies from which the 1000-page work called “Ghalin” was born, this work was made completely in color and is divided into 2 volumes. It was printed and published by the publishing house “Khane Honar Gouya”.
The section dedicated to Persian Iranian rugs present in this great collection dedicated to oriental carpets has been extracted and reproduced individually by the same publishing house.
But his work does not end there, another book that Dr. Taher has made is the book "Kilim" which was printed and published by the publishing house "vizhe nashr".
In addition, he recently made a book that deals with the art of weaving Iranian Kerman carpets, entitled "5 centuries of carpet weaving in Kerman". This book was printed and published by the publishing house "Matn".
He is currently working on 4 other books, two of which are in the printing stage and deal with the textile art of the carpets of the Iranian nomadic tribes, Shahsavand and Ghashghai. Instead the other 2 are being processed.
