Violin Making

Violin Making

The history of the construction of musical instruments dates back to the birth of life on earth. Probably, the first musical sounds were produced with the human voice. From rock depictions and studies of primitive peoples, it can be assumed that man created sounds to imitate nature and the sounds of water, wind, rain and animals. He then organized these sounds to construct a melody and a rhythm.
It was the Paleolithic man who created the first musical forms, using sound objects built with the natural materials at his disposal.
The oldest musical instrument found dates back to 67 thousand years ago: it is a cylindrical bone with four holes with which four musical melodies can be played.
In the history of music, Farabi is considered the father of this art. As a musician and theorist, he was the architect of a very important transformation of music.
Among his most important merits, the union between theory and application in the field of music must be mentioned, because, in reality, there had not yet been a music theorist who was also an inventor at the same time.
The foundations of all the musical theories we enjoy today are based on his work "The Great Book of Music". No one can, however, say who invented musical instruments: in no book or document were they inventors named.
The various musical instruments, in various parts of the world, were built and then completed thanks to numerous musicians; they have been gradually perfected, through the elimination of defects, to then assume the current form.

Archaeological excavations show that the materials used to make musical instruments were stones and animal skins. However, the best material for making musical instruments is wood, due to its variability in terms of cellulose, color and density.
