Iran and the CINELIDO festival

Iranian directors in the Cinelido festival.

The second edition of the Cinelido festival in collaboration with the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome hosts the Iranian registers Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi as head selectors for films in competition and out of competition.

The Tourist Port of Rome from 14-17 July 2022 becomes the stage of the second edition of the festival.

Cinelido - Italian Film Festival, the event dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of short films and emerging Italian talents. After the success of last year, the event will be scheduled from 14 to 17 July and will offer a rich calendar of meetings and screenings - totally free - aimed at the public of enthusiasts and professionals in the field of the Roman Summer.

The aim of the festival is to build a bridge between different cultures that overlook the Mediterranean and offer the public in the suburbs the opportunity to get closer to short films. The project, promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Culture, curated by the Cultural Activities Department and is carried out in collaboration with SIAE.

The 34 works in competition - divided between the different sections Mediterranea, Altri Lidi and Cinelido - are selected by a Committee directed and coordinated by the Iranian directors and screenwriters Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi (members of the Academy), who as part of the event they will also present the short film “Pilgrims”, directed by them.
