The Intercultural Mediation and Communication Center of the University of Milan is pleased to present the theatrical performance of the famous Persian epic poem “Khosrow and Shirin” by Nizami Ganjavi, which will be performed in the Aula Magna of the university in the Intercultural Mediation Center of the university in Piazza Indro Montanelli 1, Sesto San Giovanni (MI).

This masterpiece of 12th-century Persian literature tells the poignant love story between the Sassanid king Khosrow II and the Armenian princess Shirin, a tale of passion, obstacles and devotion that has inspired artists and poets for centuries.

The performance, curated by the Casa dei Santi association directed by Giovanni Calcagno, offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the richness of the literary tradition of ancient Persia and discover one of the greatest romantic poems in history.

The event is part of the program of cultural initiatives aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and knowledge of the literary traditions of the world in collaboration with ISMEO International Association of Mediterranean and Eastern Studies and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

The event will be preceded by a workshop led by Prof. Daniela Meneghini, professor of Persian language and literature at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and translator of the works of Nizami Ganjavi.
