During the event a short documentary on Iran's thousand-year-old culture will be shown
This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Despite the international problems affecting the country, we must remember the role it has played in historical processes and the importance it has in scientific and cultural fields. Today's Iran is, in fact, the proud heir of the Persian empire whose cultural and political achievements played a role of importance equal to the military ones. The vastness of Iranian cultural heritage is certainly also attributable to the geographical position that made the Iranian plateau the main crossroads of the Arab, Mongolian, Turkish, Indian, Chinese, Russian and European peoples. In this regard, just think of the volume, the importance and diversity of the collections housed in the National Museum of Iran, which, in addition to preserving and showing the heritage of ancient Persia to the general public, offers a contribution to culture and to universal civilization through the creation of strong bonds between different nations and the dissemination of knowledge among students and researchers.
Both on the Italian and European side there has always been great attention to the study of Iranian civilization and history and, despite the collaborations in this sector have on some occasions been affected by political developments, there has always been a firm willingness to improve such relationships. To this end, culture itself, together with scientific and technological research, could act as an element of exchange and mutual understanding to facilitate dialogue and encourage the region's pacification process.
Vision & Global Trends, International Institute for Global Analyzes on the occasion of this anniversary and following the seminar "The Islamic Republic of Iran at the time of sanctions", held last December 5, wanted to organize, in collaboration with the Cultural Institute of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a meeting to better analyze and deepen all these aspects, shed light on the importance of the Iranian cultural heritage and trace those elements capable of favoring development
of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy and Europe.
