In memory of Dr. Akbar Gholi

In memory of Dr. Akbar Gholi

The world of cultural relations between our two great nations has lost one of its characters, a symbol of cultural diplomacy. The late Gholi loved both countries and has always worked believing in dialogue, cooperation, cultural exchanges. During his tenure as Director of the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome, great strides were made in the area of cultural relations between our two great and ancient civilizations, Iran and Italy.

We would like to pay tribute to his memory by dedicating a page on our site to his memory. All those who have known him, all friends will be able to write a dedication, a memory, a thought. Thanks !

Here you could pay homage to his memory.

This is the space to share a message and pay homage to the memory of Akbar Gholi.

With great sadness I learned of the loss of Dr. Akbar Gholi. A cultured, fair and profound person, gifted with great kindness and sensitivity. With his work he has contributed to raising awareness of the millenary culture of our country and has built a bridge of friendship with Italy. I feel honored to have met him.
In this time of pain. I express all my closeness to his family, to all his loved ones, to his colleagues and friends. I pray to Allah to give us all the strength to overcome this immense pain.

Doctor Gholi has crossed the line of life and is no longer with us. It is painful to think of his absence. Its place in our life is empty. He was a great person and a Director with a great culture, associated with a deep sensitivity towards others. He put a lot of effort into his work. We have become very rich by attending the Cultural Institute of the Embassy of Iran and its activities, which are a point of reference for all those who love Iran and its people. We join in the pain of his passing, the Director of the Cultural Institute Dr. Mohammad Taghi Amini, Mr. Mohsen Yasdani and all his Colleagues and Friends.
Over time we have also had the opportunity to attend and love Dr. Gholi as a friend and a feeling of great love, friendship and brotherhood unites us to him and to his wonderful family. We thank the Lord for having given us the opportunity to have met them on the journey of our life. Our affectionate thoughts go out to them and to all their loved ones.
In response to our pain, we like to remember it with this message that we find in the prayers of the dead:
“If you love me don't cry! If you knew the immense mystery of the sky where I now live, if you could see and hear what I see and hear in these endless horizons and in this light that invests and penetrates everything, you would not cry if you love me. Here one is now absorbed by the enchantment of God, by his expressions of infinite goodness and by the reflections of his boundless love and beauty, the things of the past are so small and fleeting in comparison, I am left with the affection for you: a tenderness that I have never known. I am happy to have met you over time, even if everything was then so fleeting and unlimited, Now the love that holds me deeply to you is pure joy and without sunset. While I live in the serene and exhilarating waiting to meet you again, you think so! In your battles, in your moments of despair and loneliness, think of this wonderful house, where there is no death, where we will quench our thirst together, in the most intense transport to the inexhaustible source of love and happiness. "
God is with us and supports us even in this painful moment. We, dear friend, will continue to think of you in this serene and endless place, surrounded by the love and presence of God. We will never forget you and you will be with us all our life.

That star shines high in the sky
and intense candor emanates from us,
is your gentle heart in perpetual motion,
still accustomed to listening sincerely
of us, still foreign people,
perpetually wandering in the plague nights.

the so early and unexpected death of Dr. Akbar Gholi deeply moved me. I remember him with great gratitude when, as a dynamic and attentive collaborator of the Institute (even before he was appointed Director) he repeatedly visited the University of Bologna and - struck by the fact that the Persian civilization courses did not have a language collaborator mother - offered, through an official agreement, the precious material and financial help to cover that serious shortcoming. Relations with the University of Bologna continued over time with various collaborations and sponsorship of various cultural initiatives undertaken there. Also on behalf of the students of Persian things and of people interested in the culture of the country that Dr. Gholi has so effectively represented in Italy, I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Institute and to his family.

I am truly desolate, my brightest thoughts go to him and I dedicate these lines to him from a praise written by Rudolf Steiner for the dead:

“From the Spirit comes all existence;
all life is rooted in the Spirit,
towards the Spirit all beings evolve.

What lives in the universe does not exist
than creating in itself
the germs of a new life.
The soul gives in to death
only to evolve into an immortal rush;
it goes towards forms of life, constantly renewed. "

Have a good trip

I am deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Akbar Gholi, who has collaborated so much with us Italian Iranians in the commitment to spread the millenary culture of his country in ours. I am sure that his life lesson will constitute a sure reference for those who believe in his own values and that his gaze as a just and profound man will always continue to accompany us in our work. I join the Director of the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome and his colleagues in expressing my heartfelt condolences to the family.

Death is always a painful passage, even more so when it happens so prematurely ...
May the Lord bring you glory, even more than that, albeit great but ephemeral, that you received on earth as a man of great culture and elegance.
My prayers to you and your family will accompany you.

A kind, deep and helpful person. It was a privilege to know him and to have the opportunity to share important occasions with him. I think we must be grateful to him for what he has done for relations between Iran and Italy. And he always did it with a smile, which is no small feat. His journey on this earth is too short. We will always remember him fondly.
