Farewell to a myth of traditional Persian music

The world of traditional Persian music is saddened.

Singer Mohammad Reza Shajarian, a sacred icon of traditional Persian music, has died at the age of 80.

Immediately after the news of the death of "Ostad" (the Master in Persian), several hundred admirers flocked to the Jam hospital in Tehran where he was hospitalized a few days ago in critical condition.

Suffering from cancer for several years, Mohammad Reza Shajarian "flew to meet his beloved (God)," writes his son under a black page.

The funeral will take place in the holy city Mashhad, where it came from. Singer, instrumentalist and composer.

Mohammad Reza Shajarian has embodied Iranian traditional and classical music more than any other for half a century both overseas and in Iran.
