Sunday 10 July 2022 is Eid al-Adha, the "sacrifice" festival

The feast of the Sacrifice recalls the sacrifice made by the prophet Abraham, tested by God who asked him to sacrifice in his only son, Ishmael. Abraham obeyed; to reward him, God replaced the son with a ram to be sacrificed. With this sacrifice, Muslims demonstrate their submission to God and his will. It is a very special day, marked by prayer and meeting with relatives and friends, to have a meal of lamb together or to give food to the poor.

The Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome wishes a happy Eid al-Adha to all Muslims.
