Iran under 30; edited by Giacomo Longhi.

From 26 September in bookstores through Polidoro Editore Iran under 30, an anthology of young Iranian writers, an unexpected and vivid insight into Iran told by the new generations edited by Giacomo Longhi and with a preface by Ginevra Lamberti. Translations from Persian by Melissa Fedi and Federica Ponzo.
The meeting between an aspiring writer and an elderly writer, a boy who does everything on public transport to provoke others, the pandemic told by a little girl from the Caspian countryside or by a teacher who hides away to teach remotely in the back room of a hookah bar, a love story (or manipulation) between Tehran and Japan, a mysterious treasure and a pact between friends... Chosen by two of the greatest contemporary Iranian authors, Mahsa Mohebali and Mohammad Tolouei, the stories of Iran Under 30 takes the reader to the heart of Iran's literary laboratory, with references both to the ancient and very rich Persian culture and to the modernism of the American short story, offering through the voices of the new generations a multifaceted, and perhaps unexpected, portrait of a country often told through contrasts.
